The study of raw materials is the first fundamental step on the pathway to becoming a Mixologist. Where the Study of Liquors course (the 2nd Advanced Level for Bartenders) introduced you to a universe of different kinds of “spirits,” in this module you will learn the the technical aspects, history and origins, and organoleptic view of hundreds of brand name Liqueurs, Vermouths and Bitters originating around the world. After learning about the brand names, each lesson ends with a tasting so as to truly understand how each product tastes and can be used in combination with other ingredients to create cocktails. The course also includes a practical model dedicated to the creation of a Menu for a Cocktail Bar along with learning how to apply cost analysis to every product used in that menu.
